Excel Macro Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Excel Macro Developer to automate data workflows using VBA (Visual Basic for Applications). The role involves integrating multiple Excel files, performing complex calculations to derive key performance indicators (KPIs), and generating structured datasets for dashboard creation. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of Excel automation, data transformation, and visualization principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Excel Macros using VBA to automate repetitive tasks and streamline data processing.
• Design scripts to join and merge data from multiple Excel workbooks/sheets.
• Implement logic to calculate KPIs and metrics based on business rules and formulas.
• Generate clean, structured result datasets suitable for dashboard consumption.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into automated solutions.
• Build dynamic, user-friendly dashboards within Excel using pivot tables, charts, slicers, and conditional formatting.
• Ensure error handling, logging, and performance optimization in macro scripts.
• Document macro logic, usage instructions, and maintenance guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in Excel VBA / Macro development.
• Strong understanding of Excel functions, formulas, and data manipulation techniques.
• Experience in joining datasets using lookup functions, scripting, or Power Query.
• Ability to design and calculate KPIs from raw data.
• Familiarity with dashboarding techniques in Excel (pivot tables, charts, slicers).
• Attention to detail and commitment to clean, scalable code.
• Good communication skills to interact with business users and gather requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years Experience with Excel Power Query or Power Pivot.
• Worked on at least 3 Major Excel Automation Projects with Similar Capacity
• Exposure to integrating Excel with external data sources is added advantage (e.g., SQL Server, SharePoint).
• Exposure to Power BI development is added advantage
• Knowledge of version control and macro security best practices.
• Understanding of business operations and performance metrics.
