Job Description

Role: Data Consultant

Experience:

4+ years

Location:

Pune / Bangalore / Hyderabad

Role Overview:

We are seeking a

Data Consultant Data Governance

with strong expertise in

data management, metadata management, and data quality frameworks

. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with

Data Catalog and Governance tools (Alation, Collibra)

, strong

SQL proficiency

, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive enterprise-level data governance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement
data governance policies, standards, and procedures
to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance.
Collaborate with
data owners, stewards, and business stakeholders
to align governance strategies with business objectives.
Define and maintain
data lineage, reference data, and metadata management
practices.
Conduct
data governance meetings and workshops
to promote awareness and accountability across business units.
Monitor enterprise-wide
data management practices
, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring adherence to governance frameworks.
Support the
implementation and configuration
of data management and governance tools such as
Alation
or
Collibra
.
Maintain comprehensive
documentation
, including data dictionaries, process flows, and governance policies.
Assist in
data quality monitoring
and issue resolution, ensuring accuracy and consistency of critical datasets.
Contribute to
data visualization and reporting
initiatives using tools like
Tableau
.
Provide inputs for
automation and scripting
using
Python or Shell
where applicable.

Mandatory Skills:

Strong understanding of
data management and data governance frameworks
.
Expertise in
Data Catalog and Governance tools

Alation
and/or
Collibra
.
Experience in
data lineage
and
reference data management
.
Strong knowledge of
SQL and advanced SQL
for data profiling and validation.
Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills
, with the ability to work across business and technical teams.

Good to Have:

Hands-on experience with tools like
IGC, IA, Alation, Bigeye
.
Basic knowledge of
Python or Shell scripting
for automation.
Understanding of
ETL/ELT processes and data integration
.
Certification in Data Governance
(e.g.,
CDMP, DGSP
) is an advantage.
Experience with
data visualization tools
such as
Tableau
.
