Data Center Technician

As an Operations Technician at Google, your role will involve installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware such as servers and their components, as well as server software like Google's Linux cluster. You will also be responsible for configuring complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and networking protocols. Your day-to-day tasks will include manual movement and installation of racks, which may sometimes be physically demanding, but you will be excited to work with cutting-edge computer technology infrastructure. - Contribute to efforts/projects in the deployment, maintenance, and support of current and new data center infrastructure. - Learn and apply skills in repairing and troubleshooting different machine platforms. - Configure and troubleshoot Linux OS-related issues. - Test and troubleshoot new server, storage, and network hardware components and designs. - Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose straightforward issues with equipment or infrastructure as they arise, and applying the resources needed to resolve identified issues. - Experience with assembly of mechanical or electrical systems, or performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment. - Experience with Linux Administration, Network Infrastructure, Hardware, Project Management, Technical Support Operations, or Network Diagnostics. - Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, and networking protocols. - Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays, and on shift-based schedules as required, with flexibility to work in a 24/7 or 8/7 support model.,
