Data Analyst

Role Overview:

• Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to generate actionable insights; use tools like Python when necessary for large datasets.
• Design wireframes for dashboards and reports while ensuring feasibility by understanding tools like Tableau and Power BI.
• Create and present storyboards and PPTs for CXO-level stakeholders, simplifying complex data insights.
• Engage with clients, both on-site and remotely, to understand requirements, present business feedback and track project deliveries to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
• Drive analytical engagements, delivering business-oriented solutions with a focus on quality and impact.
• Mentor junior team members to enhance team capabilities.

What we want?

• We would expect relevant experience were the candidate has built and deployed Machine learning models at scale.
• We are expecting candidates with ML model build experience (Many candidates only maintain ongoing refresh).
• Candidates should be comfortable with coding on Python (this is key as that enables us to understand if the person has built models).
• Model should have been deployed at scale in client environment (Azure or Google or AWS).
• Types of models experience expected: Classification models, Regression models, Clustering, Forecasting (Experience in Machine Learning and Deep learning techniques).
• Experience in feature engineering: Experience in hyperparameter tuning.
• Candidate has to work out of the Chennai office
  

What we do not want?

• We are looking at data scientists with some experience (not looking at freshers right now).
• Candidates with only or majority of experience in NLP/Computer vision are not suitable (Our expectation on understanding types of use cases are different).
• Candidates with only or majority of experience in GenAI/Prompt engineering aline are not suitable (Our expectation on understanding types of use cases are different).
• Candidates with only or majority of experience in MLOPS alone are not suitable (they are mostly data engineers and manage pipelines and mostly do not build models)

Preferred Industry Experience:

• Masters degree in business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or Mathematics, OR an MBA with a focus on analytics is required.
• Proficiency in Python for EDA when necessary.
• Strong analytical and storytelling skills with relevant experience in data analyst/business analyst roles.
• Understanding of data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI to design feasible wireframes.
• Client engagement experience is mandatory, preferably in on-site roles.
• Experience in presenting business feedback and building dashboards/reports based on real-world needs.
