Data Analyst

We are seeking a Data Analyst to build and optimize the reporting that power decision-making at Chimple. This role requires the need to transform raw data into clean, reliable, and accessible datasets, enabling funder reporting, operational dashboards, and strategic insights.

You will work closely with the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) to translate their requirements into automated pipelines, dashboards, and standardized metrics.

Responsibilities

Reporting, Analytics & Dashboards (Core)

• Build and maintain reporting pipelines to deliver Funder reports (impact, reach, accountability), internal analytics (usage, trends), Operations dashboards (real-time decision support).
• Design and implement self-service data models in BI tools (Looker Studio or similar).
• Translate business and M&E requirements into data transformations, KPIs, and dashboards.
• Ensure all reports are accurate, consistent, and refresh reliably.

Data Modeling & Transformation

• Develop data models and marts from raw data sources.
• Standardize metric definitions and calculations across all reporting layers.

Data Quality & Governance

• Implement automated validation checks for critical identifiers, fields, and metrics.
• Maintain a data dictionary/metrics catalog for organization-wide use.
• Monitor data freshness, anomalies, and performance to prevent stale or inconsistent reporting.

Optimization & Standards

• Optimize SQL queries and dashboards for speed and cost-efficiency.

Partner with Data Engineers to improve upstream pipelines and remove bottlenecks.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Experience with BI/visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Supabase)
• Strong communication skills to work with non-technical stakeholders.
  

Nice-to-Have

• Python for pipeline automation.
• Experience with monitoring/cost optimization of data infra.
• Familiarity with data governance practices.
