Data Analyst

Role & responsibilities

Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations from diverse data sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and web services.
Collaborate with business users to gather and understand their reporting and data visualization requirements.

Translate business requirements into technical specifications for Power BI solutions.
Integrate data from various sources (e.g., SQL Server, Excel, cloud-based data sources, APIs) to create meaningful and accurate visualizations. Develop and optimize complex DAX queries for data analysis and reporting. Create and maintain data models and datasets in Power BI to support reporting needs. Troubleshoot and resolve Power BI performance and data issues. Optimize report performance by implementing best practices for data modeling and report design. Support the deployment and distribution of Power BI reports and dashboards to users across the organization. Work closely with the data engineering and IT teams to ensure proper integration of data systems. Conduct user training sessions to ensure that users can effectively use and interact with reports and dashboards. Maintain version control, deployment processes, and documentation for reports and dashboards.

Preferred candidate profile

4-8 years of experience in Power BI development and data analysis.
Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service for report development, deployment, and maintenance. Proficient in data modeling techniques, DAX, Power Query, and Power BI administration. Experience with SQL and other data query languages (e.g., T-SQL, MySQL, etc.). Strong knowledge of data integration techniques, including connecting to databases, APIs, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS). Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Experience in optimizing Power BI performance, including report optimization, caching, and query tuning. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes is a plus.

Education:

Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science or Technology, Master of Business Administration.
