Dynamics 365 CE Technical Consultant with Field Service

Role Summary

Field Service

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom plugins, workflows, JavaScript, Power Automate flows, and model-driven apps to meet specific business requirements.
  • Implement business logic using C#, Dynamics 365 CRM SDK, Actions, Business Rules, Real-Time Workflows, JavaScript, and Power Automate.
  • Configure and customize core Field Service modules including Work Orders, Scheduling, Agreements, Inventory, and the Mobile App.
  • Set up and manage resource scheduling using booking rules, Resource Scheduling Optimization (RSO), and technician time-off planning.
  • Integrate IoT alerts and implement Connected Field Service scenarios to enable proactive maintenance and real-time response.
  • Track and optimize service KPIs and technician efficiency using dashboards, scheduling analytics, and map-based visualizations.
  • Develop and integrate Azure components such as Azure Functions, Web APIs, and Azure Service Bus for asynchronous and scalable processes.
  • Use custom connectors, PCF controls, and Ribbon Workbench for extended platform customization and rich UI enhancements.
  • Perform solution deployments using Azure DevOps pipelines and Power Platform CLI to enable streamlined ALM practices.
  • Skilled in data migration and deployment using Microsoft-supported tools.
  • Develop reports and dashboards; customize views, forms, charts, and the sitemap to improve usability and data visualization.
  • Apply deep knowledge of the D365 CE data model, security roles, and role-based access to ensure secure and compliant implementations.
  • Participate in full project lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, upgrades, support, debugging (Plugin Trace Logs, XrmToolBox, browser tools), and code reviews, while promoting scalable, low-code/no-code solutions aligned with Microsoft best practices.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE, including 3+ years in Field Service implementation.
  • Strong development expertise in C#, .NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Dynamics 365 SDK (Plugins, Workflows, PCF).
  • Skilled in Power Platform, including Canvas and Model-driven Apps, Power Automate, and Custom Connectors.
  • Hands-on experience with Field Service modules: Work Orders, Scheduling, Resource Bookings, and RSO.
  • Integrated solutions using Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, and Web APIs.
  • Familiar with Power BI integration for reporting and Field Service analytics.
  • Proficient in Azure DevOps for deployments and Git for source control and version management.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with experience in supporting co-developers and working with cross-functional teams.
