Credit Manager-Construction Finance-Leading NBFC-Hyderabad

Job Purpose:

The Credit Manager Construction Finance will be responsible for evaluating, assessing, and underwriting credit proposals for construction/project finance (e.g., real estate developers, contractors, infrastructure companies). The role includes detailed financial analysis, risk assessment, and ensuring adherence to internal and regulatory credit policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Assessment & Underwriting

• Evaluate credit proposals from real estate developers, infrastructure firms, and construction contractors.
  
• Analyze financial statements, project cash flows, promoter background, market potential, and business viability.
  
• Conduct due diligence, including legal, technical, and site visits in coordination with relevant teams.
  
• Prepare detailed credit appraisal notes and present to sanctioning committees.
  
• Structure deals with appropriate covenants, terms, and risk mitigants.
  
• Ensure timely decision-making in line with defined TATs (Turnaround Times).
  

Risk Management

• Monitor portfolio quality and identify early warning signals (EWS).
  
• Ensure adherence to internal credit policies, RBI norms, and regulatory guidelines.
  
• Assist in periodic portfolio reviews and stress testing.
  
• Recommend and implement risk mitigation measures (e.g., escrow, DSRA, security perfection).
  

Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with the business team to understand deal dynamics and provide credit structuring support.
  
• Coordinate with legal, technical, and valuation teams for comprehensive appraisal.
  
• Liaise with external agencies (CAs, valuers, legal firms) for verification and reports.
  

Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure proper documentation and post-sanction compliance (e.g., charge creation, disbursal conditions).
  
• Review legal and technical reports and ensure alignment with credit conditions.
  
• Maintain MIS, audit compliance, and respond to internal/external audit queries.
