Job Description

We are looking for a driven and results-oriented professional to lead our Credit & Collections team. In this crucial role, you will oversee the entire credit lifecycle, from analyzing creditworthiness to recovering outstanding receivables. Your responsibilities will include developing strategies for evaluating customer creditworthiness, approving or declining credit applications based on risk management guidelines, and overseeing efficient collection processes to maximize recovery rates while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical regulations. You will lead and coach a team of collections specialists, provide ongoing training and mentorship, and implement strategies to manage delinquent accounts using techniques like skip tracing and negotiation. Monitoring collection performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement will be key aspects of your role. Maintaining positive and professional relationships with customers throughout the collection process and resolving disputes and complaints in a timely manner will also be part of your responsibilities. Ensuring strict adherence to all federal and state regulations governing debt collection practices, such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and preparing accurate and timely reports on collection activities and performance metrics will be essential. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in credit and collections management. You should have a proven track record of exceeding collection targets while maintaining positive customer relationships, a strong understanding of credit analysis principles and risk management strategies, and in-depth knowledge of relevant collection laws and regulations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are required, as well as the ability to lead, motivate, and coach a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collections software is a plus, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
