Job Description

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Patient Counselling

Provide clear and compassionate counselling to patients regarding their diagnosis, treatment options, and surgical procedures.
Explain pre-operative and post-operative instructions, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
Clarify doubts and help patients make informed decisions about their eye care.
Support patients emotionally, especially elderly or anxious individuals.

2. Surgical Counselling & Conversion

Explain different surgical options (e.g., cataract, LASIK, retina, glaucoma) and the technologies used.
Discuss package details, costs, insurance, and payment options.
Follow up with patients who have been advised surgery to facilitate decision-making.
Work with doctors and front office staff to maximize surgery conversion rates.

3. Coordination with Medical & Administrative Teams

Coordinate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and the operation theatre (OT) team for scheduling surgeries.
Communicate patient decisions and special requirements to the respective departments.
Ensure proper documentation of consent forms, surgery bookings, and payment receipts.

4. Patient Education & Support

Educate patients on post-surgery care, medication schedules, and follow-up visits.
Distribute educational materials, brochures, or videos related to eye health and treatment.
Handle patient feedback and escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate authority.

5. Administrative & Reporting Tasks

Maintain accurate counselling records, conversion reports, and daily MIS.
Track and report patient feedback, follow-up calls, and surgery status updates.
Participate in hospital awareness programs, camps, and outreach activities if required.
