Cornea Surgeon

to join our Ophthalmology department. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 10 years of post-qualification experience in corneal surgeries and comprehensive ophthalmology. This role involves diagnosing and managing diseases and disorders affecting the cornea, performing complex corneal surgeries, and providing high-quality patient care.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of corneal disorders including keratoconus, corneal dystrophies, infectious keratitis, and dry eye disease.
  • Perform advanced corneal surgeries such as penetrating keratoplasty (PKP), deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK), endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK, DMEK), and corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL).
  • Conduct refractive procedures such as LASIK, PRK, and other anterior segment surgeries when applicable.
  • Collaborate with other ophthalmologists and healthcare professionals for multidisciplinary case management and patient care.
  • Manage post-operative care and follow-up of corneal transplant and surgical patients, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain detailed medical records, documentation, and case histories in compliance with hospital protocols and medical regulations.
  • Participate in academic activities including clinical teaching, workshops, and CME programs for residents and fellows.
  • Contribute to research, case studies, or publications in corneal and anterior segment surgery to enhance institutional knowledge and reputation.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in cornea and anterior segment surgery through continued education and training.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • MBBS and MS/MD/DNB in Ophthalmology from a recognized institution.
  • Fellowship in Cornea and Anterior Segment from a reputed center is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years and up to 10 years of hands-on experience in corneal surgery and clinical ophthalmology.
  • Proficiency in microsurgical techniques and use of advanced ophthalmic surgical equipment.
  • Strong diagnostic capabilities in slit lamp biomicroscopy, corneal topography, specular microscopy, and anterior segment OCT.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, patient-centric approach, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to counsel patients and explain treatment plans effectively.
  • High attention to detail, commitment to surgical excellence, and ability to manage complications
