Controls Testing Manager, Director

Role Overview: Join us as a Controls Testing Manager where you will be responsible for delivering regular testing of key controls and files, as well as completing targeted control reviews for a franchise or function. Working closely with relevant business areas and other business controls teams, you will ensure findings from reviews are escalated and robust action plans are agreed upon and driven forward with key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Ensure timely completion of all appropriate risk issues, drive action plans to mitigate operational risks, and implement improvements to the testing approach - Develop, maintain, and complete key controls testing and targeted control reviews within agreed timescales and methodologies - Design, deliver, and coordinate parts of the functions testing plan, liaising closely with front line, upstream risk, and second and third lines of defence - Own and maintain a risk-based testing methodology to prioritize and deliver testing activities - Drive enhancements to the testing approach leveraging data and reducing requirements for onsite testing - Deliver high-quality testing activity and reports focusing on key controls, ensuring compliance with the operational risk handbook - Provide leadership to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, motivate the team to achieve objectives, manage budgets and headcount Qualifications Required: - Experience working in a banking or wealth management environment with a good understanding of financial products, regulatory rules, operational, credit, and market risk principles - In-depth knowledge of investment business governance - Level 4 investment qualification covering securities, derivatives, and retail investment products - Experience leading implementation of solutions for end-to-end automation of control testing through data analytics, robotic process automation, or agentic AI - Track record of managing testing of large control portfolios, including automated controls and controls reliant on emerging technology - Strong leadership in implementing tooling for managing control testing activities - Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, develop effective relationships across the business - High level of collaboration and networking skills,
