Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and general ledger functions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records in QuickBooks, ensuring correct application of accrual and cash basis entries.
  • Perform account reconciliations (bank, credit card, intercompany, etc.) on a regular basis.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows).
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition, expense accruals, and prepaid amortization.
  • Provide variance analysis and financial insights to management.

Month-End / Year-End Close

  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing process, including preparation of adjusting journal entries and closing schedules.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and external consultants as needed.
  • Maintain organized and complete documentation for audit readiness.

Internal Controls & Process Improvements

  • Develop, document, and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend automation or efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Certification

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (Masters degree preferred).
  • CA, CPA, CMA or equivalent professional certification preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or Controller role.
  • Proven experience working with

    QuickBooks

    in a corporate setting.
  • Prior experience with US-based companies or clients is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and financial reporting tools.
  • Deep knowledge of accrual vs. cash accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to work with US time zone overlap.
