Department: Finance & Accounting Employment Type: Full-time Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee all aspects of our accounting and financial operations. This role requires expert-level knowledge of QuickBooks , strong understanding of accrual vs. cash accounting, and hands-on experience preparing accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements . The Controller will manage the month-end and year-end close processes, maintain robust internal controls, and provide strategic financial insights to leadership. The candidate must have demonstrated hands-on experience with the skills listed above, prior experience working with US-based companies or clients, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across time zones. Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Compliance Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and company policies. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and general ledger functions. Maintain accurate and timely financial records in QuickBooks, ensuring correct application of accrual and cash basis entries. Perform account reconciliations (bank, credit card, intercompany, etc.) on a regular basis. Financial Reporting Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows). Ensure proper revenue recognition, expense accruals, and prepaid amortization. Provide variance analysis and financial insights to management. Month-End / Year-End Close Lead the month-end and year-end closing process, including preparation of adjusting journal entries and closing schedules. Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and external consultants as needed. Maintain organized and complete documentation for audit readiness. Internal Controls & Process Improvements Develop, document, and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Identify process gaps and recommend automation or efficiency improvements. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company requirements. Qualifications & Skills Education & Certification Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (Masters degree preferred). CA, CPA, CMA or equivalent professional certification preferred. Experience Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or Controller role. Proven experience working with QuickBooks in a corporate setting. Prior experience with US-based companies or clients is highly desirable. Technical Skills Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and financial reporting tools. Deep knowledge of accrual vs. cash accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation. Soft Skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Willingness to work with US time zone overlap.
