Digital Advisory: GIS Consultant Job Location: Bengaluru/Noida About the Role As a GIS Consultant with WSP you will provide GIS support to multi-disciplinary projects as part of a team of professionals making up the Transformation Digital Insights service line. Reporting to a Senior GIS Consultant, you will manage and perform analysis on digital data from a variety of sources. Day-to-day tasks could involve GIS data preparation, data management, analysis, and production of mapping in the form of web applications or hardcopy. You will assist in the delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, deadline, and quality targets and regularly meet or exceed client expectations whilst promoting and marketing our services both internally and externally. Collaboration is key to everything we do as the Transformation Digital Insights service line, and as such, you should possess strong teamwork and communication skills and be able to explain complex GIS processes and procedures to members of staff and clients with varying knowledge of the capabilities of digital data and software platforms. Innovation is highly desired within the digital space to ensure we stay abreast of the current technological trends and procedures that can add value to the service line. As such, we look for people with a desire to innovate and use their initiative to implement the best solution possible for the current use case. You should be an individual with a keen attention to detail and an appreciation of the importance of quality in everything we produce as the Digital Advisory service line, be this a hardcopy map or a web application served to an end user via ArcGIS Enterprise or Online. Responsibilities Support the Senior GIS Consultant and other members of the team Provide GIS support to all areas of the business as required Assist in developing efficient working practices to provide industry-leading, best-value services to our clients Undertake GIS mapping, analysis, data capture, data management, and geoprocessing Analyse and develop databases Prepare and coordinate work for GIS staff based in the UK and overseas Deliver GIS work on UK projects Liaise with internal and external clients Provide GIS technical mentoring to junior GIS staff Develop and maintain QA on datasets and figures Awareness of Open-Source software and data Work with the GIS team to deliver GIS deliverables to tight deadlines Contribute to the technical development of the GIS team through sharing ideas and innovations To be aware of WSP s Health and Safety policy Undertake own continuous professional development. Occasional travel to other offices for business development and project meetings Essential Skills Core principles of GIS and GI data management and an ability to apply them, especially with regard to Enterprise Geodatabases ArcGIS Desktop ArcGIS Pro Analysis Map production Automation ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online Knowledge of the licensing structure and integration of the platforms Configuration of existing web applications such as Dashboards, Web Applications or Survey123 Understanding of relational databases and geodatabase design and the ability to deploy them Knowledge of UK GIS datasets both proprietary and open source Some previous experience of GIS project management Identifying innovative solutions to problems and driving the development of these Customer-focused approach to quality and service Self-motivated and to show initiative Proactive approach to developing new skills and keeping up to date with technology The ability to promote the team to clients Able to identify potential to add value by integrating GIS processes and procedures with those of other teams within the Digital Advisory service line, such as Data Analysts Desirable Skills Jira Python SQL Arcade Model Builder ESRI mobile applications An awareness of the architectural configurations that can exist behind ArcGIS Enterprise and Online platform frontends Qualifications A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Member of a relevant professional institution Demonstrable experience (3-6 years)
