Job Description

GalaxEye Space is pioneering next-generation Earth Observation (EO) solutions through a unique constellation of sensors, including Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR – X-band), Multi-Spectral Imagers (MSI), and proprietary SyncFused Products (SAR + MSI fusion). We deliver high-quality, actionable geospatial data to clients worldwide and are expanding into drone-borne solutions for generating high-fidelity SynFused Data products.


The Role:We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Computer Vision Intern to join our data processing and algorithm development team. This role focuses on improving the data fidelity and spatial accuracy of imagery collected from our drone-borne optical sensors. You will be responsible for developing and implementing algorithms to enhance image quality and generate seamless, high-resolution orthomosaic maps.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement image processing algorithms to enhance visual quality and quantitative accuracy of raw optical data.

  • Research and apply techniques to minimize issues such as rolling shutter effects, lens distortion, and atmospheric haze.

  • Design and implement computer vision algorithms for image registration, feature matching, and geometric alignment of overlapping drone images.

  • Generate geometrically accurate, high-fidelity orthomosaic maps ensuring color consistency and seamless stitching.

  • Establish quantitative metrics and validation procedures to evaluate image quality and spatial accuracy improvements.

  • Test and benchmark algorithms on real-world flight data.

  • Collaborate with the Software and Remote Sensing teams to integrate developed algorithms into the existing processing pipeline.

  • Document all methodologies, code, and experimental findings clearly and concisely.

Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Remote Sensing, or a related technical field.

  • Strong theoretical and practical background in Computer Vision and Image Processing.

  • Proficiency in Python with experience using libraries such as OpenCV, NumPy, SciPy, and GDAL.

  • Familiarity with photogrammetry principles, geometric transformations, and image registration.

  • Exposure to Deep Learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plus.
