Position: Compressor Technician Department: Technical / Field ServiceIndustry IoT-Based Smart Vending MachinesLocation Field & Service Center1 Role OverviewThe Compressor Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining compressors and cooling systems in IoT-based vending machines. The technician must ensure proper cooling performance, troubleshoot issues, and support integration with IoT-based monitoring systems.2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Installation & CommissioningInstall compressors (R134a / R600a-based) in vending machines as per design standards.Perform refrigerant line connections, brazing, vacuuming, and gas charging.Ensure proper installation of:Overload protectorStart relayCondenser fan motorThermostat / temperature sensorsTest compressor performance after installation.B. Troubleshooting & RepairDiagnose and fix cooling-related issues, including:Compressor not runningOverheatingLow cooling or no coolingGas leakageBlocked capillaryMoisture in systemReplace faulty electrical components (relay, OLP, wiring).Perform leak testing using nitrogen and soap solution.C. Preventive MaintenanceConduct regular PM activities:Coil cleaningDust removalChecking refrigerant pressureCompressor vibration & noise checkElectrical connection tighteningRecord temperature performance using IoT dashboard when available.D. IoT System SupportCoordinate with IoT team for:Temperature sensor calibrationIoT controller & relay functioningMonitoring compressor ON/OFF cyclesReport IoT alerts related to cooling issues (high temp, low temp, compressor overload).E. Documentation & ReportingFill out service reports after every visit.Maintain logs of gas filling, part replacement, and RCAs.Update breakdown status on CRM/ticketing app.3. Required Skills & Experience2–5 years experience in refrigeration or cooling systems.Hands-on experience with:Hermetic compressorsR134a / R600a refrigerantsCopper brazingVacuum pump operationGas pressure managementKnowledge of IoT-based machines is an added advantage.Ability to read wiring diagrams.Strong understanding of safety protocols.4. Tools & Equipment FamiliarityGauge manifoldVacuum pumpLeak detector / nitrogen test kitBrazing torchMultimeterRefrigerant charging toolsCrimping tools & basic electrical tool kit5. Responsibilities Specific to IoT-Based Vending MachinesValidate cooling performance using app/dashboard analytics.Ensure compressor cycles match IoT sensor readings.Report abnormal IoT alerts immediately.Support remote diagnostics with the technical team.6. Behavioral SkillsAbility to handle field work independently.Strong problem-solving approach.Customer handling when visiting client locations.7. QualificationITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC) or equivalent.Additional certifications in cooling systems or compressor handling preferred.8. Mandatory RequirementsMust have a 4G smartphone and be familiar with using mobile apps.Must have a two-wheeler with a valid Driving License.Must be willing to travel 50–60 km/day on the field.Must be willing to work 6 days/week, including weekends (with compensatory off during weekdays).
