Commodity Supplier Quality Manager

In this role as a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer at Wabtec Corporation, you will have the opportunity to develop and manage various supplier panels including Machined, Engineer system, Plastic and Rubber, Fasteners, and Surface Treatment. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the quality expert role to support suppliers in developing strong processes and process controls, as well as sharing the return of experience. You will be tasked with achieving Supplier Quality goals such as APQP/PPAP execution, NCMR reduction, SCAR, Audits, etc. for the assigned supplier base, commodity, or manufacturing shops. Additionally, you will contribute to growth plans with existing and new suppliers, continually improving supplier quality performance, and working in a boundary-less manner with diverse teams to achieve the desired results. **Key Responsibilities:** - Accurate & rigorous evaluation of current and potential suppliers using multiple tools. - Working with Sourcing/Buyer for all resourcing and new projects related to commodity and selecting the right supplier to ensure 100% FTR. - On-time execution of New Component Introduction (APQP/PPAP) projects. - Maintaining & upgrading product & process quality at suppliers. - Driving & ensuring compliance to supplier-facing processes (Audits, PPAP, SCARs, SDRs, etc.). - Identifying & qualifying new products & suppliers in the region to drive growth. - Collaborating with other functions as required to execute PPAP projects. - Providing seamless shop support to ensure the right quality product is delivered to the customer. - Implementing containment and corrective action plans for any supplier NCMR in manufacturing or service shops. - Performing trainings to improve supplier's knowledge and ability to meet FT requirements. - Alerting and escalating in case of supplier performance not meeting Wabtec requirements and developing them. **Qualifications/Requirements:** - Graduate in Mechanical/Production/Metallurgical/Electrical Engineering from a reputed institute. - 10+ years of experience working in a similar profession & industry. - Sound understanding of contemporary manufacturing, control, and inspection technologies in Non-metallic products, Machining, and Engineered systems. - Strong understanding of quality tools, interpersonal skills, teamwork, leadership skills, project management, and process improvement ability. - Change agent with the ability to influence multiple levels of the organization across functions. - Strong PC and data management skills.
