Job Description


We are seeking a talented and dedicated Commis I - Tandoor to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist in the preparation and cooking of authentic tandoor dishes, contributing to our restaurant's reputation for excellence in Indian cuisine.

  • Assist the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen staff in the preparation and cooking of tandoor dishes
  • Maintain and operate the tandoor oven, ensuring proper temperature control and cooking techniques
  • Prepare ingredients for tandoor cooking, including marinating meats and vegetables
  • Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene in the tandoor section
  • Follow recipes and cooking methods as directed by senior chefs
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure efficient food preparation and service
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper care of kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Assist with inventory management and stock rotation in the tandoor section
  • Participate in menu development and suggest improvements for tandoor dishes
  • Support other kitchen sections as needed during peak hours or special events

Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent culinary qualifications
  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen, preferably with focus on tandoor cooking
  • Proficiency in tandoor cooking techniques and equipment operation
  • Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, particularly tandoor specialties
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP
  • Excellent attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and work in a hot kitchen environment
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new cooking techniques and recipes
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
