As a member of The St. Regis Mumbai culinary team, your role will involve preparing special meals or substitute items, regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters, as well as pulling food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator. It will be your responsibility to ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and food garnish, while maintaining food logs and monitoring the quality and quantity of food being prepared. During busy periods, you will communicate any assistance needed and inform the Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials. In addition to food preparation tasks, you will also assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees. Serving as a role model, you will be expected to follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures, reporting any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to your manager. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and anticipating and addressing guest service needs will be key aspects of your role. Furthermore, you will need to speak with others using clear and professional language, develop positive working relationships, and support your team in reaching common goals. Adherence to quality expectations and standards, as well as performing other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors, will also be part of your responsibilities. The preferred qualifications for this position include a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree for education, at least 3 years of related work experience, and no supervisory experience required.
