Commis Chef

Job Summary

The Commis Chef plays a key role in supporting the kitchen team by assisting with food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. This entry-level position is ideal for someone passionate about cooking and eager to learn under the guidance of senior chefs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the supervision of senior chefs.
• Ensure all ingredients are prepared, stored, and handled according to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Head Chef.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and utensils.
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries while checking quality and stock rotation.
• Support senior chefs in mise en place and service.
• Learn and apply cooking techniques, kitchen procedures, and food presentation styles.
• Comply with all health & safety and hygiene regulations.
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a kitchen (internship/apprenticeship or commis role) preferred, but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
• Strong willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
