Job Title: Commi 1 – Pizza

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Commi 1 (Pizza) to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in preparing, baking, and presenting pizzas, along with knowledge of dough handling, toppings, and oven operations. You will be responsible for ensuring consistency, taste, and quality while maintaining hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, cook, and present pizzas according to standard recipes and menu specifications.

Manage dough preparation, stretching, proofing, and baking with attention to detail.

Handle pizza ovens (wood-fired/stone/electric) efficiently and safely.

Ensure high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pizza section and workstations.

Assist in inventory management, stock rotation, and requisitions for pizza ingredients.

Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service.

Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines.

Train and guide junior staff/Commis in the pizza section when required.

Requirements:

3–6 years of proven experience as a Commi 1 or in a similar role in pizza preparation.

Strong knowledge of dough-making, pizza toppings, sauces, and baking techniques.

Familiarity with Italian/continental cuisines will be an advantage.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays as per operational needs.

Education:

Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional training preferred.
