Job Description

A Commis 1, also known as a prep cook, is a member of a culinary team who prepares, cooks, and serves food under the guidance of more experienced chefs. Their responsibilities include:

  • Food preparation: Preparing ingredients, cooking, and plating dishes
  • Quality control: Ensuring food quality and consistency, and meeting agreed standards
  • Sanitation and cleaning: Following sanitation and cleaning procedures, and ensuring work stations are properly sanitized
  • Inventory: Monitoring stock movement, requisitioning items, and accepting and storing deliveries
  • Kitchen maintenance: Performing daily and weekly activities such as temperature checks, food labeling, and storage
  • Kitchen safety: Removing hazards and reporting any defects in the kitchen or equipment
  • Customer service: Maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Training: Attending training courses as identified for appropriate development
  • Communication: Communicating clearly and effectively in a kitchen environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
