Coating Inspector

The Coating Inspector shall be responsible for inspection and quality control of surface preparation and painting activities for structural steel, piping, skids, and compressor packages, ensuring compliance with approved coating procedures, project specifications, and applicable international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect surface preparation (SA 2.5 / St-2 / St-3) and verify cleanliness, profile, and environmental conditions
• Ensure painting is carried out as per approved paint system, datasheets, and ITPs
• Check and record DFT, WFT, adhesion, and holiday testing as applicable
• Verify storage, mixing, pot life, and application of paints and thinners
• Monitor curing times and inter-coat intervals
• Coordinate inspections with QA/QC, Client, and Third-Party Inspectors
• Maintain painting inspection reports and contribute to MDR / coating dossiers

Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma / ITI – Mechanical / Painting / Coating
• NACE / AMPP Level I or II – added advantage
• 5 to 8 years of experience in industrial painting for Oil & Gas, EPC, skids, or compressor package projects
