Position Summary:
Under minimal supervision, a
CNC Operator/Machinist
at HMC/VMC sets up and operates machines in skilled precision work in the fabrication, alteration of machinery, machine parts, tools and equipment by performing the following duties
Work You’ll Do:
- Works with computer numeric controlled heavy machinery from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic or other materials
- Operates CNC equipment to cut, grind, or drill into the material
- Adjusts the machine to control speed, material feed and path of the cut, as well as make sure the machines are set up properly, working well and producing high quality products
- Inspects finished products to ensure it is defect-free
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with co-workers, customers, and management.
- Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
- Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
- Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, push and pull broaches and a variety of cutting tools and equipment
- Fabricates and shapes parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal
- Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials into machines
- Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling
- Evaluate, change or modify to setup jobs
- Confers with engineers, production supervisor, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
- Utilizes and abides by the ISO requirements and safety procedures
- Complies with all quality, environmental, and HR policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
- Maintain daily machine and equipment cleanliness (5S) along with following preventative maintenance standards
- Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.
Team:
The CNC Machinist Team is responsible for operating and programming CNC machines to produce precision parts and components. This team plays a critical role in manufacturing, ensuring that parts meet specifications and quality standards
Basic Qualifications:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, ITI, BE or Any Equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, ITI, BE or Any Equivalent
