Operations Engineer

As a Mid-Level Operations Engineer, you will manage the operational health of services in a distributed Java microservices platform.

You will lead incident response efforts, automate recurring tasks, and work with developers and SREs to ensure resilient, observable systems using technologies such as Kafka, MongoDB, and Datadog.

Key Responsibilities

1. Own incident triage and response, collaborating with developers and stakeholders.

2. Analyze and resolve recurring service issues; contribute to root cause analysis and prevention. 3. Automate common operational tasks using scripting, CI/CD tools, or infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform).

4. Monitor services using Datadog and Prometheus; improve alerting and dashboarding.

5. Contribute to service onboarding and operational readiness (SLOs, runbooks, on-call documentation).

6. Participate in change and release management with a focus on safety and reliability.

Skills & Qualifications

2 to 5 years in a systems, platform, or DevOps-focused operations role.

Strong experience with Linux systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), and observability tools. Working knowledge of Java-based microservices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Hands-on experience with tools such as Gitlab, Terraform, or similar.

Solid understanding of incident and problem management within an ITIL or DevOps framework. Strong collaboration and communication skills.
