Civil & Finishes Engineer

Job Title: Civil & Finishes Engineer

Department:

• Supervise daily finishing works including:
• Flooring (marble, tiles, wooden flooring)
• False ceilings (gypsum, grid ceiling)
• Wall finishes (painting, wallpaper, cladding)
• Joinery and carpentry works
• Oversee civil works such as masonry (brick/block work), plastering, waterproofing (wet areas, terraces, basements), and enabling works.
• Coordinate with MEP teams to ensure correct placement of conduits, sleeves, outlets, and services prior to finishing activities.
• Lead snagging and de-snagging activities during pre-handover and ensure timely rectification by contractors.

2. Quality Control (QA/QC)

• Inspect incoming materials (tiles, granite, sanitary ware, hardware, etc.) as per approved samples, mock-ups, and specifications.
• Prepare and maintain Work Inspection Requests (WIR), quality checklists, and inspection records at each stage of finishing.
• Ensure high standards of workmanship with zero tolerance for defects such as hollow tiles, uneven paint finishes, misaligned joints, chipped edges, or surface imperfections.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and installation guidelines.

3. Project Management & Reporting

• Monitor daily site progress against the look-ahead schedule and ensure adherence to project timelines.
• Assist in quantity surveying activities, including:
• Verification of contractor RA bills
• Joint measurements and site measurements
• Prepare material reconciliation reports to control wastage of finishing materials.
• Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR) and Weekly Progress Reports highlighting progress, issues, delays, manpower, and material status.

Qualifications & Experience

• BE / B.Tech in Civil Engineering

  or

  Diploma in Civil Engineering

Experience

• Minimum

  5 to 15 years

  of experience as a Site Engineer in a reputed construction company
• At least

  2 years of hands-on experience in finishing works

  for:

• COMMERCIAL Buildings

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, execution procedures, and local construction practices.
• Excellent ability to read and interpret:
• Architectural GFC drawings
• Interior design (ID) drawings
• Shop drawings
• Proficient in

  AutoCAD

  and

  MS Office

• Strong QA/QC background is mandatory.
• Ability to plan and manage resources effectively.
• Sound knowledge of tools, equipment, and finishing installation techniques.
• Ability to understand installation guidelines for interior fit-out works and supervise subcontractors accordingly.
• Capable of conducting installation training for subcontractors and clients (product training will be provided).
