Civil Engineer & Site Surveyor

We are looking for a highly skilled Civil Engineer and a Site Surveyor with specialized experience in utility-scale, ground-mounted solar power plants. The successful candidates will be responsible for the end-to-end civil execution and land assessment, ensuring that the plants structural integrity meets 25-year durability standards.

Role & responsibilities

• Lead all civil construction activities, including site clearing, grading, land leveling, and the installation of Module Mounting Structures (MMS)
• Supervise piling, RCC work, and foundation casting for inverters, transformers, and MMS to ensure they withstand wind and seismic loads.
• Oversee the construction of internal access roads, peripheral boundary walls/fences, and effective drainage systems to prevent waterlogging.
• Verify the quality of all construction materials (cement, steel, aggregates) and conduct on-site tests (cube tests, soil compaction).
• Review and certify Running Account (RA) bills from contractors; prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR) and ensure the project hits milestones on time.
• Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment standards across the site.
• Conduct detailed topographical and contour surveys using Total Station, GPS/DGPS, or Drone technology.
• Identify land boundaries, existing obstructions, and slope analysis to optimize the solar table layout.
• Coordinate geotechnical investigations and soil resistivity tests to provide data for foundation design.
• Precise marking for piling and structure alignment to ensure the solar panels are oriented at the exact tilt and azimuth required.
• Map out the most efficient routes for internal roads and transmission line (TL) corridors to the nearest substation.
• Prepare comprehensive survey reports, contour maps, and KMZ files for the design team.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering (for Engineer) / Diploma in Surveying or Civil (for Surveyor).
• Deep understanding of how terrain impacts shading and generation.
• Strong leadership, ability to manage local labor/contractors, and excellent communication.
• Expert handling of Total Station (Leica/Trimble), Auto-level, and DGPS
• Expert in Google Earth, Global Mapper, and Civil 3D
• Ability to navigate and survey rugged, remote terrains for extended periods.
