Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and creative Chinese Chef to join our café team. The ideal candidate will bring authentic Chinese flavors to our menu, while adapting to the casual and fast-paced nature of a café environment. You will be responsible for preparing a variety of Chinese-inspired meals, managing kitchen operations, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Key Responsibilities:Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes suitable for a café setting (e.g., noodles, dumplings, rice bowls, stir-fries, soups). Create innovative and café-friendly Chinese menu items that appeal to a wide audience. Ensure food is cooked and served efficiently and consistently during peak hours. Monitor inventory and assist with ordering fresh ingredients and supplies. Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with café staff to ensure smooth kitchen-to-table service. Train junior kitchen staff as needed. Requirements:At least 2–3 years of experience as a Chinese chef or cook, preferably in a casual dining or café environment. Good knowledge of Chinese ingredients, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment. Ability to work efficiently in a small, fast-paced kitchen. Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards. Team player with good communication and time-management skills. Creativity and flexibility in adapting dishes for a café audience. Optional Skills (a plus):Experience in fusion cuisine or modern presentation styles. Ability to cater to dietary preferences (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free). Basic English or local language communication skills.
