Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Commis 1 – Chinese Cuisine to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing authentic Chinese dishes, maintain high food quality standards, and ensure a clean and efficient kitchen operation under the guidance of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, noodles, dim sum, soups, and sauces, according to standardized recipes and quality expectations.
• Assist in the mise en place (preparation) for daily operations in the Chinese section.
• Follow proper food handling and hygiene practices at all times.
• Ensure proper portion control and minimize food waste.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned kitchen area.
• Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure timely and efficient service.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and tools in good working condition.
• Support senior chefs in training junior staff or commis II/III as needed.
• Adhere to all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Chinese cuisine, preferably in a hotel or high-volume restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of traditional Chinese cooking techniques (e.g., wok cooking, steaming, braising).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
• Culinary diploma or certification is a plus but not mandatory.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions:

• Physically demanding role; requires standing for long periods and working in hot kitchen environments.
• Shift-based schedule, including weekends and public holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
