Role & responsibilities

The Unit COO will be responsible for overseeing the overall operational, financial, and administrative functions of the hospital unit. This role ensures smooth functioning of clinical and non-clinical services, high standards of patient care, operational efficiency, revenue growth, and compliance with regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

• Lead and manage day-to-day hospital operations to ensure seamless functioning across all departments.
  
• Coordinate with Nursing, Medical Administration, Support Services, and Quality teams to ensure consistent patient care delivery.
  
• Monitor patient flow, bed occupancy, turnaround time, and service delivery efficiency.
  

Financial & Business Performance

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to NABH / JCI quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee patient safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement projects.
• Implement protocols to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes.
  

People & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
• Collaborate with Medical Directors, Consultants/Doctors, and Heads of Departments to ensure alignment.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors, government bodies, and external stakeholders.
  

Strategic Initiatives

• Introduce new services, specialty programs, and operational enhancements.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives including HIS/EMR adoption and process automation.
• Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to support business expansion.
  

Preferred candidate profile

• MBA / MHA / PGDHM / Equivalent in Hospital or Healthcare Management.

• 815 years

  of experience in Hospital Operations, with at least

  35 years in a Unit Head / Deputy COO / Operations Head role.

• Experience in multi-specialty or tertiary care hospitals preferred.
