The products offered by us are broadly applicable in plastering, glass, construction, steel, Fertilizes, Purification of water and in varied chemical processes. Job Title: Lab Chemist Job Overview: We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lab Chemist to join our team. As a Lab Chemist, you will play a crucial role in the testing and analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products within our laboratory. This position primarily focuses on the analysis of limestone, dolomite, and coal/coke in accordance with industry standards and company specifications. Responsibilities: 1) Chemical Composition Analysis: Conduct chemical composition analyses using methods such as X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and wet chemical analysis for limestone, dolomite, and coal/coke samples. 2) Particle Size Analysis: Perform particle size distribution analyses using techniques like laser diffraction or sieve analysis to ensure adherence to product specifications. 3) Physical Properties Testing: Assess the physical properties of materials, including density, hardness, and porosity, utilizing appropriate testing methods. 4) Loss of Ignition (LOI): Determine the percentage of volatile materials by conducting Loss on Ignition tests, crucial for assessing carbonates in limestone and dolomite. 5) Calcination Test Dolomite: Conduct calcination tests to evaluate the ability of dolomite to undergo decomposition under heat. 6) Acid Insoluble Content (Dolomite): Analyze acid insoluble content in dolomite using acid digestion and gravimetric analysis. 7) Thermal Analysis (Dolomite): Employ thermal analysis techniques, such as differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) or thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), to study the thermal properties of dolomite. 8) Proximate Analysis (coal coke): Perform proximate analysis to determine moisture content, volatile matter, fixed carbon, and ash content in coal and coke samples. 9) Ultimate Analysis (coal coke): Conduct ultimate analysis, measuring carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur, and oxygen content using appropriate combustion techniques. 10) Calorific value Determination (coal coke): Assess the calorific value of coal and coke through methods such as bomb calorimetry or calorimetric combustion. 11) Petrographic Analysis (coal coke): Conduct petrographic analysis using optical microscopy and image analysis to examine microstructures of coal and coke samples. 12) Sulfur Content Analysis (coal coke): Determine sulfur content through combustion followed by titration or instrumental techniques. 13) Documentation: Keep detailed and accurate records of all experiments, test results, and formulations. Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommendations. 14) Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment in the laboratory. Properly handle, store, and dispose of chemicals in accordance with safety regulations. 15) Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and research and development. Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve product-related issues. Requirement: Bachelor's or Masters degree in Chemistry or a related field. Proven experience as a Lab Chemist with specific expertise in the analysis of limestone, dolomite, and coal/coke. Familiarity with industry standards and testing methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Excellent record-keeping and documentation skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
