Chemist

Qualifications :-

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry (preferably with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry).

Candidates with Diploma or B.Tech in Chemical Technology (Fertilizer / Chemical Engineering) are also suitable for process-related roles.

Understanding of fertilizer chemistry, phosphate reactions, and sulfuric acid handling is an added advantage.

Technical Skills & Knowledge :-

Thorough knowledge of SSP, phosphate rock composition, sulfuric acid reaction, and SSP production chemistry.

Familiarity with process control parameters such as acidulation, moisture content, curing, granulation, and product stabilization.

Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory instruments:

pH meter

Spectrophotometer

Titration setups

Gravimetric analysis apparatus

Ability to test raw materials (rock phosphate, sulfuric acid, gypsum) and finished SSP for:

P₂O₅ content

Free acidity

Moisture

Particle size distribution

Experience Requirements :-

3–5 years of experience in a fertilizer plant, preferably in SSP, NPK, or other phosphate-based fertilizer industries.

Hands-on experience in:

Quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA)

Monitoring of production batches and maintaining statutory compliance standards

Sample preparation and routine chemical analysis

Experience in working with pollution control norms (PCB guidelines) and FCO specifications is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities :-

Conducting chemical analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.

Ensuring compliance with FCO standards and maintaining accurate laboratory records.

Coordinating with production teams to optimize process parameters.

Ensuring safe handling of chemicals and adherence to industry safety protocols.

Supporting quality audits and documentation.
