Change And Configuration Manager

The Change & Configuration Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing any changeswhich may potentially affect either the customers, or Insights, internal operating environment. They coordinate and liaise with customer Change Approval Boards, and third-party providers, to ensure Insight provides uninterrupted service to customers throughout the duration of any secured service contracts.

The Change & Configuration Manager is also held accountable for defining and managing the Service Asset & Configuration Management policy and its processes, ensures integration with other IT Service Management processes such as Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management, and also ensures that up to date, verified information around the status of service assets and IT infrastructure is readily available and can be used for other IT service management processes.

Configuration Management

• Responsible for the creation, implementation, and communication of configuration management plans, processes, and standards.
• Responsible for the creation, implementation, and communication of the Service Asset & Configuration Management policy and standards.

• Propose and agree interfaces with change management, problem management, and network management functions

• In partnership with operational teams ensure the planning, execution, and population of the asset register and configuration management database.

• Review asset and configuration management processes on a regular basis for efficiency and effectiveness, ensure any agreed changes to processes are properly documented, approved, and communicated.

• Coordinate all configuration management database changes which may directly or indirectly impact nonproduction environments, or production services, according to the agreed, and published, Change Control policy.

• Remain knowledge of the end-to-end implications of configuration changes and communicate such implications as and when appropriate. • Responsible for the governance of the configuration management policies and processes including governing the update of configuration items.

• Identify, control, record, report, audit and verify configuration items including versions, baselines, and constituent components and their attributes and relationships.

Change Management

• Own, develop, and maintain the governance of all changes, and change management plans, processes, and standards. • Manage the relationship with the customers Change Advisory Board (CAB) as and when required.
• Govern the development of all change management plans for projects and or change management related initiatives.
• Evaluate the impact of any planned changes, identify risks, and develop risk mitigation tactics.
• Identify and manage any anticipated resistance to planned changes.
• Lead change management work streams with structured methodology and or processes.

• Support the development of communications relevant to any upcoming and or planned change initiatives.

• Develop and evolve existing/current Change Management processes and procedures.

• Provide coaching, training, and guidance around Change Management to teammates at all levels.

• Define key success metrics and measure performance against defined targets.
• Provide reporting, and other updates, to management and internal and external project teams.
