Job Title: CFD Engineer

Automotive Thermal Systems

Job Summary:

CFD Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Perform
3D CFD simulations
using
Star-CCM+
for various thermal systems in vehicles.
Analyze
cooling performance
of powertrain components (engine, e-motor, battery, inverter, etc.).
Develop thermal models for
underhood airflow
,
radiator/heat exchanger performance
,
cabin HVAC
, etc.
Interpret and validate CFD results against experimental data or benchmarks.
Work closely with
design
,
testing
, and
systems
teams to recommend improvements based on CFD insights.
Ensure simulation practices follow industry best standards for mesh quality, solver settings, and boundary conditions.
Optimize designs by performing
parametric studies
,
DOE
, and
sensitivity analysis
.

Must-Have Skills:

Minimum 1
year of hands-on experience
in
automotive CFD
(thermal domain).
Strong expertise in
Star-CCM+
for thermal/heat transfer problems.
Good understanding of
fluid dynamics, heat exchangers, thermal conduction/convection
.
Experience with
model setup, meshing, solver controls
, and
post-processing
in Star-CCM+.
Familiar with
thermal systems in ICE and EV platforms
.
Working knowledge of
CAD tools
(CATIA, NX) and
pre-processing software
like ANSA or Hypermesh.
Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.

Good to Have:

Exposure to
Multiphysics simulations
(e.g., Conjugate Heat Transfer, Multiphase Flow).

Education:

Masters degree in
Mechanical / Automotive / Thermal Engineering
or a related field.
