Job Description

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing procedures in the catheterization lab, including pre-operative and post-operative care

Assist physicians during catheterization procedures by preparing the necessary equipment and monitoring patient vital signs

Administer medications, including emergency drugs, and manage IV lines during procedures

Educate patients and their families on pre- and post-procedure care, ensuring clear understanding of recovery plans and follow-up appointments

Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, procedures, and any changes in patient conditions using electronic health records

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care and optimal patient outcomes

Ensure the catheterization lab is clean, stocked, and equipped with necessary supplies and equipment

Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with advancements in cardiovascular care and catheterization techniques

Required Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a cardiac care or catheterization lab setting

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to perform well under pressure

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals

Proficiency in using electronic health records and other healthcare technologyWorkplace Culture
