Role & responsibilities

Patient Related

• Observing, recording and reporting the vital signs like blood pressure, pulse count etc of the patient
• Should be informed about patient history details for processing treatment
• Taking patient vitals every hour
• Counseling and preparing patients about surgery/procedures
• Providing and checking medications offered to patients as prescribed by doctors
• Anwering to the patient calls immediately
• Providing timely medication as per prescription to the patient
• Taking consent from patients and relatives before conducting any procedures
• Explaining patient about the dressing care post radial or femoral procedure accordingly
• Removing of sheath from patient after surgery, dressing and explaining the care to be taken to patients
• Informing dietician about patient condition or severity and providing diet accordingly
• Informing doctor about critical condition about patients and following their instructions

Cath-lab Procedures

• Abiding PPE practices: uniform, masks, caps and proper hand washing
• Assisting in angiography or angioplasty or any other cath-lab procedure to doctors
• Preparation of MRD file and proper documentation with reports
• In case of emergency, providing CPR to patients
• Ensuring complete crush cart maintenance
• Preparing and arranging material required before procedures
• Requesting indent during emergency
• Handing over and provide briefing to staff for the next shift and intimating about all procedures conducted
• Should be aware about patient details and specifications such as patient name, treatment prescribed, ward, doctors name, medications in real time
• Assuring infection control practices at all times
• Informing any medication error to cath-lab incharge/nursing incharge for timely action

Preferred candidate profile

GNM/B.Sc(nursing) with relevant experience
