As a Cath Lab Nurse at Manipal Hospitals, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures. You will work closely with the cardiology team to ensure the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after procedures. Your role will include monitoring patients' vital signs, administering medications, maintaining sterile environments, and collaborating with physicians during the procedures. Additionally, you will educate patients and their families about pre-and post-procedure care and assist in the management of patient flow within the catheterization lab.
- Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization and related procedures.
- Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs and overall condition throughout the procedure. - Administer medications and assist with sedation as per physician’s orders. - Maintain a sterile and organized environment in the cath lab. - Collaborate with the medical team to provide quality patient care during procedures. - Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding procedures and recovery. - Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner. - Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards. Skills and Tools Required: - Registered Nurse (RN) license with experience in a cardiac catheterization lab or critical care environment. - Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and related medical terminology. - Proficient in monitoring equipment and understanding cardiac rhythms. - Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. - Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. - BLS and ACLS certification is required. - Commitment to ongoing education and training in cardiac care practices.
