Category Associate

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive, accountable, and highly organizedCategory Associateto take end-to-end ownership of a designated category. This role goes beyond managing a single channel you will be responsible for driving the overall growth, performance, and operational efficiency of the entire category across YouTube and other digital platforms.

You will work closely with the Director, production teams, and creative teams to ensure smooth content planning, publishing, optimization, and performance tracking. This role suits someone from a reputed arts/science college with strong academic credentials, an interest in media and digital content, and the mindset to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

Category Ownership

• Take complete operational ownership of the assigned category across YouTube and other digital platforms.
• Ensure smooth coordination between all teams involved content, editing, design, performance, and production.
• Be accountable for category performance, timely delivery, and overall workflow efficiency.

Channel & Content Management

• Oversee day-to-day operations of all content channels within the category.
• Ensure timely uploading of videos with accurate titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails.
• Manage end-to-end publishing pipelines for multiple videos/content pieces simultaneously.

Planning, Scheduling & Coordination

• Maintain and manage the content publishing calendar.
• Coordinate with editors, designers, writers, and subject experts to ensure deadlines are met.
• Prepare, track, and update weekly/monthly release schedules.

Content Optimization

• Implement basic SEO strategies to enhance visibility and reach.
• Work with teams to improve metadata, watch-time, retention, and click-through rates.
• Suggest improvements based on analytics and content performance trends.

Analytics, Reporting & Insights

• Monitor performance metrics including views, retention, engagement, and subscriber growth.
• Prepare weekly/monthly performance reports with actionable insights.
• Track category-level KPIs and flag opportunities or problems early.

Trend Research & Ideation

• Stay updated on trends across YouTube, social media, and edutainment/education content.
• Support brainstorming sessions with fresh ideas backed by data and trends.
• Suggest content formats, hooks, and themes that align with audience interest.

Community Engagement

• Assist in managing comments, responding to queries, and engaging with the audience as required.
• Support audience feedback tracking to improve content quality and relevance.

Startup Mindset & Initiative

• Take initiative to solve operational bottlenecks without waiting for instructions.
• Demonstrate ownership in driving improvements, experimenting with ideas, and optimizing processes.
• Adapt quickly to new tools, workflows, and priorities typical in a startup environment.
