Cashier/Sales Assistant

In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and ensuring prompt and courteous service. Operating cash registers, scanners, scales, and other checkout equipment will be part of your daily tasks. You will need to issue receipts, refunds, or change accurately and efficiently to customers. Additionally, bagging groceries carefully and assisting customers with carrying out items when needed will be essential. Key Responsibilities: - Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, courteous service. - Operate cash register, scanners, scales, and other checkout equipment. - Issue receipts, refunds, or change due to customers. - Bag groceries carefully and assist customers with carrying out if needed. - Answer customer questions about products, prices, promotions, or store policies. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area. - Follow all cash handling and loss prevention procedures. - Assist with restocking and front-end displays as needed. - Report any equipment issues or suspicious activity to management. - Support store team with tasks during slow periods (e.g., returns, cleaning, facing shelves). Qualifications Required: - Excellent customer service skills. - Ability to operate cash registers and other checkout equipment. - Strong communication skills to interact with customers effectively. - Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
