Job Summary:

A Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials. The role involves working according to blueprints, measuring accurately, and ensuring quality finish. The ideal candidate will have strong carpentry skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the materials and tools required.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials like wood, plywood, drywall, plastic, fiberglass, and other materials.
• Build, install, or repair frameworks, including door frames, window frames, staircases, flooring, and other wooden structures.
• Install fixtures such as cabinetry, molding, shelving, railings, and doors.
• Maintain and repair existing wooden fixtures, including sanding, refinishing, and applying protective coatings.
• Ensure that all work is performed to high standards of craftsmanship and safety.
• Operate carpentry and woodworking tools safely and correctly (e.g., saws, chisels, planes, routers, nail guns).
• Collaborate with contractors, site supervisors, architects, or clients to align on project requirements, timelines, and changes.
• Clean and maintain tools and work area. Dispose of waste materials safely.
• Estimate material costs, order supplies, and keep inventory of woodworking materials.

Qualifications:

• Proven work experience as a Carpenter, joiner, or similar role.
• Proficiency with carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
• Excellent knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
• Good understanding of basic math (measuring, calculating dimensions, angles).
• Ability to read technical documents (blueprints, drawings).
• Physical stamina and strength; able to lift heavy materials, work in various positions (standing, kneeling, bending).
• Attention to detail and excellent finishing skills.
• Good communication skills; ability to work as part of a team.
• (Optional) Certification or trade school diploma in carpentry.
• (Optional) Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Skills / Additional Attributes:

• Experience with specialized carpentry (e.g. cabinetry, furniture making, finishing).
• Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
• Ability to work with different types of wood and alternative materials.
• Problem-solving attitude and adaptability to changing project requirements.

Working Conditions:

• Work may be outdoors or indoors.
• Exposure to dust, noise, temperature variations.
• Use of safety gear: gloves, goggles, helmets, ear protection.
• Possibly working at heights or in confined spaces.
• May require travel to different job sites or daily commute.

Pay: ₹10,953.19 - ₹22,000.00 per month
