We are seeking a motivated and dynamic individual for the position of “Senior Group Manager in our Sri Lanka office. The successful applicant will have a strong sense of accountability and will be responsible for managing the service delivery of the firm EMEA & Central Shared Services Teams in Sri Lanka.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a large and dynamic team of professionals based in the Sri Lanka and India offices providing middle office services (Accounting, Banking & Treasury, Risk & Compliance, etc.) to the firm EMEA business division & Central Shared Services business divisions
  • Review & sign-off for accuracy of the management accounts, financial statements, tax returns, solvency calculations, etc. prepared by firm EMEA Insurance Accounting team members
  • Responsible for all client accounting, tax, regulatory, treasury & other company administration issues and ensuring all agreed timetables and deadlines for financial, regulatory and Board reporting are met
  • Ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards (UK/US GAAP, IFRS, SORPs etc.)
  • Ensure the teams adhere to Artex compliance and regulatory frameworks
  • Ensure the timely delivery of tasks and responsibilities of the teams while maintaining a high service standard
  • Have an overall understanding of the services and the customers of the business division to provide input for the operational and strategic decision making of the division
  • Support & develop talent within the team to ensure continuous growth high performance
  • Build & maintain a strong relationship with key stakeholders and regular engagement with them
  • Drive regular reporting on management information
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive Process Excellence to enhance the quality & efficiency of the processes.
  • Experience in standardisation of processes to build consistency in reporting
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully transitioning back-office related services through online or on-site methods.
  • Familiarity with Project Management principles will be highly beneficial.

Minimum Requirements:

  • ACMA, ACA or ACCA qualification or equivalent.
  • MBA or MSc degree from a reputed university.
  • Preferably 10 years post qualified experience in the accounting field preferably in the insurance / reinsurance sector with experience managing large teams.
  • Knowledge of the international insurance / reinsurance market and regulatory environment along with exposure to the BPM industry would be an advantage.
  • Advanced computer literacy skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong financial reporting abilities, business process acumen and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to develop highly engaged teams and managing teams effectively.
  • Experience of operating in a matrix management structure.
  • Ability to cultivate and manage strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate initiative.
  • Motivated individual who is deadline driven, able to work independently and committed to delivering an excellent level of client service.
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
