As a Tax Specialist, your role will involve the following responsibilities: - Responsible for the preparation of complex tax returns such as T1, T2, T3, T5013, and reviewing simple and medium tax computations. - Handling additional projects including SR&ED, PFIC, safe income calculations, surplus calculations, M&A, various information returns, and administrative projects. - Ensuring the delivery of high-quality tax products within agreed time frames. - Providing day-to-day support to Managers in delivering tax computations and client service. - Collaborating with various sub-teams to facilitate the collection and analysis of tax data. - Addressing client queries related to data requests during data exchange by exception or escalation. - Participating in conference calls with the engagement team, team members, and clients. - Mentoring junior staff members on basic tax technical and compliance process matters. - Building relationships within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities, setting expectations, and delivering high levels of client service. - Handling day-to-day engagement team liaison. - Adhering to the firm's best practices and policies regarding the compliance process. Qualifications required for this role: - Minimum 4+ years of work experience in the same industry. - Ability to manage a group of 3-5 associates effectively. - Strong communication skills. - Attention to detail and accuracy. - Ability to comprehend instructions and take ownership of assigned work. - Proficiency in MS Office tools. - Familiarity with risk management and compliance procedures. - Effective sharing and collaboration with team members to create a positive team spirit. - Capability to handle large engagements. - Project management skills, including planning, prioritizing work, meeting deadlines, and monitoring utilization. - Commitment, adaptability, and flexibility to work extended hours during peak tax compliance seasons.,
