Cake Decorator

Job Title: Cake Decorator   Job Overview:   We are seeking a talented and creative cake decorator to join our bakery team and elevate our cakes to new heights of visual appeal. As a cake decorator, you will be responsible for transforming freshly baked cakes into works of art through the application of icing, frosting, and decorative elements. Your artistic flair and attention to detail will be essential in delighting our clientele and enhancing the reputation of our bakery.   Responsibilities:   1.   Decorate cakes according to our specifications, design, and bakery standards, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation. 2.   Apply icing and frosting to cakes using piping bags, spatulas, and other decorating tools, with precision and creativity. 3.   Customise cakes with hand-piped lettering. 4.   Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the decorating area, including workstations, tools, and equipment, in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. 5.   Assist with cake assembly, stacking, and finishing touches, collaborating with other bakery staff to ensure timely and efficient production.   Requirements:   1.   Previous experience as a Cake Decorator or Pastry Chef specialising in cake decorating, preferably in a bakery, cake shop, or pastry studio. 2.   Experience in cake decorating techniques, including icing, piping, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative designs. 3.   Creativity and an eye for detail to produce visually pleasing cakes. 4.   Ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines without compromising quality. 5.   Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment. 6.   Willingness to continuously learn and improve skills through practice and participation in professional development opportunities. 7.   Certification or formal training in pastry arts, cake decorating, or culinary arts is advantageous but not required.
