Job Description

The All-Rounder Café Chef is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food and beverages, with a strong focus on coffee preparation and machine operation. This role demands versatility in the kitchen, excellent knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, and the ability to maintain consistency and quality across all menu items.

Key Responsibilities:1. Coffee & Beverage Preparation

  • Operate, maintain, and clean espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
  • Prepare espresso-based drinks (cappuccino, latte, americano, etc.) with precision and consistency.
  • Experiment and develop signature beverages to enhance café offerings.
  • Monitor quality, taste, and presentation of all drinks served.

2. Kitchen & Food Preparation

  • Prepare light meals, snacks, sandwiches, bakery items, and café-style dishes.
  • Follow standard recipes, portion control, and hygiene guidelines.
  • Ensure mise-en-place (prep work) is ready before service hours.
  • Assist in menu planning and suggest creative additions for customer engagement.

3. Customer Service & Interaction

  • Engage with customers, explain coffee profiles, brewing styles, and menu options.
  • Take special requests and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Maintain a friendly and welcoming café atmosphere.

4. Equipment & Inventory Management

  • Perform daily maintenance and calibration of coffee machines and grinders.
  • Monitor stock of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and kitchen supplies.
  • Ensure proper storage of raw materials to maintain freshness and minimize waste.

5. Hygiene & Compliance

  • Follow FSSAI and café hygiene standards (clean workstation, utensils, equipment).
  • Maintain proper sanitation and food safety protocols.
  • Ensure café is always presentable and ready for service.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Coffee Expertise: Strong knowledge of coffee beans, roasting profiles, latte art, espresso extraction, brewing techniques (espresso, French press, pour-over, etc.).
  • Machine Knowledge: Ability to troubleshoot and maintain coffee machines & grinders.
  • Culinary Skills: Basic cooking and baking knowledge for café menu items.
  • Customer Service: Polite, friendly, and good at explaining café offerings.
  • Time Management: Ability to multitask during peak hours.
  • Hygiene Conscious: Understanding of food safety and hygiene protocols.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or Barista Training (preferred).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a café, coffee shop, or restaurant environment.
  • Hands-on experience with commercial espresso machines (La Marzocco, Rancilio, etc.).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹9,185.23 - ₹28,008.34 per month
