CAD Designer – Roads & Highways

CAD Designer (Roads & Highways)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and develop detailed

  CAD drawings

  for road and highway alignments, cross-sections, junctions, interchanges, and related infrastructure.
• Support the design team in preparing

  plan & profile drawings, typical cross-sections, pavement layers, drainage layouts, and BOQ drawings

  .
• Ensure that all drawings comply with

  IRC, MoRTH, AASHTO, and international standards

  as applicable.
• Work closely with design engineers to convert conceptual sketches into accurate

  2D/3D CAD models

  .
• Maintain and update drawing records, revision logs, and drawing registers.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (structures, geotechnical, drainage, utilities) for integrated project delivery.
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely completion of drawings and documentation.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD (2D/3D)

  and Civil CAD tools (e.g., Civil 3D, MX Road, OpenRoads – preferred).
• Good understanding of

  highway geometry, horizontal & vertical alignment design, cross-sections, and pavement layers

  .
• Knowledge of

  MoRTH/IRC specifications

  and international design standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and quality-oriented approach.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Background:

• Experience in

  roadway / highway design consultancy projects

  (National Highways, State Highways, Urban Roads, Expressways).
• Candidates from

  engineering consultancies / EPC companies

  will be preferred.
•  Diploma or degree in civil engineering
•  Minimum 8+ years of CAD drafting experience in 

  Road and Highways

  projects

• Software experience required :

1.    Autodesk Civil 3D

2.    Navisworks
