CAD Designer – Mechanical (Robotics)

Department: Mechanical Design (Prototype Team)

Location: Maker Village, Kerala, India (on-site)

Summary:

The CAD Designer creates precise 3D models and detailed drawings for robotic prototypes. Working closely with engineers, they ensure parts are well-documented, manufacturable, and integrated correctly. This role supports design iterations, documentation, and prototyping workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Develop accurate 3D CAD models of components and assemblies.

• Produce clear and complete 2D technical drawings.

• Apply drafting standards and GD&T for manufacturability.

• Perform fit, clearance, and interference checks.

• Maintain CAD file revisions and document changes.

• Generate BOMs and prepare drawing packages for vendors.

• Collaborate with engineers and fabricators during design and build.

• Support rapid prototyping and adjust models based on feedback.

• Ensure consistency and quality in all design documentation.

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Design.

• 2+ years of CAD modeling and drafting experience.

• Proficient in 3D CAD software.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing drawings and tolerances.

• Attention to detail and clear communication with engineering teams.

Experience Level:

Junior to Mid-level (2–4 years). More experienced candidates may take on broader responsibilities.
