Department: Prototype Development (Systems Engineering) Location: Maker Village, Kerala, India (primarily on-site) Summary: The Systems Engineer / Solutions Architect leads the design of complex robotic and automation prototypes. This role defines system architecture, ensures integration of mechanical, electrical, and software components, and oversees the full development lifecycle—from concept to validation. The position requires working closely with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver solutions that meet customer and industry standards. Responsibilities: • Design scalable architectures for robotic systems, selecting technologies for sensors, actuators, controllers, and software. • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ensure cohesive integration. • Translate user needs into engineering specifications, maintaining clear documentation and traceability. • Perform feasibility studies and trade-offs to assess risks, reliability, and system safety. • Plan and execute system integration and testing, resolving system-level issues. • Provide technical guidance and lead design reviews across disciplines. • Manage system-level documentation and ensure compliance with safety and automation standards. • Stay updated on robotics and automation trends, incorporating best practices into designs. Requirements: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field. • 5+ years of experience in system design for robotics or automation. • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles. • Broad knowledge of robotic subsystems and multi-disciplinary integration. • Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards. • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills. • Experience managing prototype or R&D projects from concept to delivery. Experience Level: Senior (7+ years preferred; 5+ with proven leadership will be considered)
