Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Manager Online Courses (GlobalU & Schiller University)

Role Purpose:

To drive the growth of GlobalU and Schiller International University's online courses portfolio by identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, building robust partnerships, and surpassing enrollment and revenue targets. The BDM is responsible for optimizing sales processes, supporting product development with market insights, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery in a fast-paced edtech ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Student Acquisition & Revenue Growth:
  • Achieve and exceed student enrollment and revenue targets for assigned intakes.
  • Generate qualified leads and convert them through strategic outreach, presentations, and consultative selling.
  • Partnership & Agency Development:
  • Identify, onboard, and nurture new student recruitment agencies, educational institutions, and training providers globally.
  • Sustain strong relationships with existing partners, ensuring continuous engagement and performance improvement.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners.
  • Regularly meet with partners to present offerings, provide training, and ensure alignment on mutual goals.
  • Market Intelligence & Analysis:
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify new business opportunities and assess industry trends.
  • Collect and analyze customer and partner feedback to improve product offerings and customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic Planning & Reporting:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, product, academic, operations) to design and implement business strategies.
  • Provide timely reporting and insights on pipelines, targets, and market opportunities using CRM and analytics tools.
  • Negotiation & Deal Closure:
  • Lead negotiations, prepare proposals, and close partnership and sales agreements aligned with organizational goals.
  • Process & Cost Optimization:
  • Analyze business and financial data to drive process improvements, reduce costs, and increase profitability.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Proven track record in business development/sales, preferably within the edtech, education, or online learning sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales/enrollment targets in a dynamic, results-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • High level of business acumen, attention to detail, and flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience with online program management, corporate training, or channel sales in the education sector.
  • Proven experience in onboarding, training, and managing external partner agencies.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying market trends and competitor activities.
