Job Description

Role Objective

The Business Development professional will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, managing existing key accounts and strengthening customer relationships for the Gear Division. This is a PAN India basis field-oriented role requiring strong technical knowledge, customer engagement skills, and cross-functional coordination.

Preference will be given for candidates having hands of experience in dealing with Drive Technologies such as Main propulsion drive system for marine , Critical speed drives for high speed gas compressors & steam turbines , Helical drives for hydro turbines, Central & side drives for cement mill, Vertical roller mill bevel planetary drive for coal as well cement mill, Energy efficient planetary drive for sugar mill application, pinion stand gear units for rubber and steel mill. Helical and Bevel Helical Gear boxes, Customized solution in heavy duty mechanical transmissions.,

Preferred candidate profile

  • Regular field visits, developing new market, indent generations, techno- commercial negotiations & pursuance for contracts generation for mechanical transmission products as mentioned.
  • Registration with government organization / PSU as well as consultants from steel, cement, sugar, chemical etc. for product approvals.
  • Efficient interaction and coordination with cross functional team of supply chain, R&D, Industrial engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance to verify execution feasibility and preparation of techno commercial proposals.
  • Co ordination with external inspection agencies.
  • Aligning of order execution & after sales activities.
  • Represent the organization in industry focused trade fairs and allied activities.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure long-term business growth.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in target sectors.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering (mandatory).
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in Business Development / Sales in heavy engineering or manufacturing industry (preferred from above products’ line).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical transmission systems, gearboxes, couplings, and motors.

Skills & Competencies

  • Application knowledge in mechanical transmission systems.
  • Ability to conduct feasibility studies and evaluate client proposals.
  • Strong coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently in a field role.
  • Strong customer orientation and relationship management.

Work Environment

  • Primarily field-based role requiring frequent client visits and travel on PAN India basis.
  • Collaboration with internal teams at the Pune facility for proposal, costing, and production support.
